Overheathing causing display problems

When using the Macbook Air for a while playing a game such as World of Warcraft, it gets hot, as you would expect.
However, the graphic then start to fail badly. Some parts of the display are corrupted, and eventually the game is unusable.
Exiting a game so it cools down the machine continues to work, so this suggest the problem is the graphics card/chipset overheating rather than a general CPU or RAM issue.
It seems like the one thing the Air lacks is "air" to keep it cool!
Anyone else seeing this. Is this a known fault?

I would have to say that the MBA wasn't really designed for playing graphic intensive games. Perhaps you would be better off with a different model?

There is a massive difference between poor performance and being broken.

Hi,
it seems to be hard to understand: The Air is not intend to play graphic heavy games. Now, you can argue, that it has all that it needs and it is just a design fault. But that just misses logic by inches. If you need a machine for playing, take a MacBook or even better a MacBook Pro. If you need a very light machine for travel, regular use anywhere you happen to find a spot to sit, may it be on the bed, in the garden, wherever, take the MacBook Air.
I am not aware of current technology that allows to build an "Air" with the power and heat dissipation of a MacBook Pro. To be honest, those have the fans running at higher speed as well most of the time, so heat will be the problem, maybe until we have the first home computers based on quantum-effects using Q-bits as transistors.
Nevertheless your MBA could be broken indeed, so I recommend you check with the next genius bar.
Cheers,
Volker

Games will make the computer get more hot because of how it's like. The laptops are not prone to play much games. You have to download some program to control that stuff. I'll post the link for you on another post... I think you get what I mean.

Hi
I have the same problem here when playing World of warcraft, I will not accept that the air was not designed for that or this application. This is a problem and apple should find a fix for it. After all you buy a Mac and it should just work.
Please this problem should be looked at! oh and yes I have done what has been suggested and it still have not solved my problem.
I cant believe what I just read "it was not designed for playing graphics intensive games" the issue here is that it works but fails due to over heating.
