Web access *slow* since Leopard Server install....

I've updated our first Xserve to run the following network services:
AFP, DHCP, DNS, Open Directory, SMB, VPN.
Everything is running swell - something I was rather surprised on first install.. but I'd credit Lynda.com's fantastic videos for helping me through it...
...Except, web access seems to be very slow. Client machines are set with 10.0.1.10, the Xserve's IP address, as primary DNS, with the ADSL router (10.0.1.1) coming second, and finally the ISP's DNS - 158.152.1.48 (it's Demon.net).
I'm assuming that requests for websites from apple.com to bbc.co.uk are slow because of the DNS setting.
In this situation, would it be wise to remove the ADSL router from the DNS list, and instead use the Xserve, and then the two ISP DNS servers? Or, does "Forwarder IP Addresses" in Server Admin's DNS configuration likely solve this issue?
Any insight would be much appreciated

Hello! my first post here!
Can you tell me how you fixed your problem?
I've just unstalled Leopard server on the mini at home and my internet connection seems really slow now.
I use to run the imac and the mbp through a dlink wifi router but just changed to an APBS that acts as the DHCP server. The mini is hard wired in it and runs standard server.
I usually consider myself as a power user, used to be competent on NT Server, and i know a little of Linux but i'm a newb on OSX server - and all the server things for that matter... DNS, Directory, etc... i get the genertal picture, but maybe I've made my setup slow without knowing it. I'm trying out Apple's claim of "no need of IT department".

Resolved on my own with help of google and other search functions.
I removed my server IP adress from the DNS and put my ISP DNS server adress instead... Came back a quick as it was.
I guess this means something is wrong with my server DNS function.
I think i'll move from standard to advanced server in the next few days to give me more latitude in configuration...
