Has anybody else found that reception is worse after 2.0.2? It is for me.

I haven't seen any difference in 3g signal,still same signal I get everywhere I go.and I still have the awsome apple typing lag,glad they kept this feature:(

Yes the same for me. Before the update the iPhone could be used inside, but only in 2G. Now I have to go outside.

I get a "No Service" at home now with 3G, used to have 1 bar but at least I could make calls.

Sitting right next it, 8525: 5 bars 3G.
I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure this one out.

Same as before. I have to admit, however, it's frustrating to see people on some threads say we should stop complaining and that it's an ATT issue.
If it were an ATT issue, Vodafone and TMobile wouldn't have pointed fingers at Apple last week.

After the 2.0.2 update, my 3g reception is MUCH worse -- tons of dropped calls...

Yes it is worse for me and I'm in the centre of the 2nd largest city in England where signal is supposedly good.
I had no problems with v2.0 but now with v2.0.2 I seem to have inherited loads of problems! 3G keeps flicking on then off intermittently.
Simply put, it's RUBBISH!

Pre-update I had wonderful service at my home, 4 to 5 bars on the regular network, 3 bars on the 3G. After getting 2.0.2 I now have "no service" or 1 bar on the regular network and 2 to 3 bars on 3G. I live on the outskirts of Phoenix, AZ in Gilbert 85297. How can I rollback to 2.0.1? Anyone?

Yes, for me as well.. I can only make calls when I turn off 3G.. My old iphone worked better than this.. I'm about to go back to my blackberry where I never have any issues....

It's been two days since I applied the 2.0.2 update; here are my experiences so far:
1) After applying the update initially, I could not use the iPhone's internet capabilities. It would constantly switch from 3G to EDGE and back on a continuous basis. When it did this, upon reconnecting to the 3G network, Safari would resolve DNS and then the browser would hang. If I switched to WiFi, no problems, surfing was fine. If I turned off 3G, EDGE would work better than 3G. The mail client using 3G would also hang, it would fail to send a message and then queue it for later.
2) I called Apple support, they had me do a "restore." I did so, and to some degree, that resolved some of the issues. However, I'm not letting Apple off the hook yet. I'm not switching between 3G and EDGE as frequently, but I still find inconsistencies with the 3G performance. Signals have a tendency to burst sporadically for a 1/2 second to a full 5 bars and then they drop down to 1 bar. This is in an area (according to AT&T's coverage maps) where 3G is predominately implemented. So what gives, why 1 bar?
I conducted tests with three other 3G iPhone's side-by-side with mine and the results are not consistent across the devices. My phone has the worst performance amongst the three that I've tested. All phones display 1 or 2 bars, but my phone surfs progressively slower than the other two; all with similar settings. Once again, what gives? It's pretty obvious that something very specific is happening here and it's Apple's responsibility to figure this one out. There is no way that AT&T is the issue, because other 3G capable phones connected to the same network do not behave this way. Very frustrating to say the least, because this update made no difference from version 2.0.1. Better luck next time Apple, please fix this problem, it's killing consumer confidence.

My battery life is worse since the update - 3 hours and 21 minutes of usage and got the dreaded 20% pop up.  Before the update, I would get around 5 1/2 hours before it popped up.

I have noticed (and I hope that I'm not just delusional) but after applying the v2.0.2 update the phone seems to run warmer? That may have something to do with your battery life decreasing. Maybe the update manipulated the 3G chip's feature which turns it on or off for power saving functionality. It's the 3G chip that makes the iPhone run hot. It puts more demand on the battery, which in turn cranks up the heat. That alone would have a dramatic impact on battery performance. Similar to "battery saving" settings within an OS for laptops. Curious?
