2.1 firmware update displays incorrect battery meter

After installing firmware 2.1 on my iphone I started noticing my battery meter displaying the incorrect charge level. I charged it in full yesterday, and this morning I still had more than half the battery meter. I checked 10 minutes later and the meter was now showing 10% left with the red battery meter.
I went ahead and charged it again , used it for a while and now noticed that the battery meter is not only showing the incorrect amount left (still) but shows a different battery status on different menu screens. Shows battery meter to be full in the home screen and half the meter on an app, email ,etc.
Firmware 2.1 has definitely messed up the meter!
inaccurate reading on the battery meter , someone else has to be experiencing this same problem.
let me know if someone else has this same problem !

Try resetting the phone. This has corrected the battery meter issue for some.

Resetting first.
Hold the Sleep/Home buttons until the Apple logo appears.

try draining out the battery first and then recharge it, see if that shows an accurate. I had that happen to me on the 2.02 update. The battery meter was inaccurate. Like when i reached 20% it was actually at 50% when i plug it in to charge. So i did sent them a feedback about it. So I'm hoping that the 2.1 fixes this issue. So far my battery is showing at 100%.
Usually for me at the end of the day after a full charge in the morning, the battery meter would go down 1 bar. So i'll have to wait and see.

Apple suggest completely draining the battery once a week or so to re-calibrate the meter. To do this run the phone until it goes through the 10% remaining notice and eventually it will turn itself off. If when you turn it back on it won't start but shows a red battery message then re-charge.
Works pretty well for me. The iPhone, like other smart phones, is never going to have days of talk time, but I have had a reasonable showing from the battery.

I am having a similar issue after updating to 2.1. I was saying to myself that WOW the battery power is much better (meter was saying full after a full day of using it and not plugging in) but unbeknownst to me, my power was about to run out. It finally did while I online.
Any suggestions on what to do?

I had the same exact issue as the post above. My battery meter didn't move until it did. I tried the reset and have no idea if that has wokred yet or not.

Yeah mine did the same thing last night. I went the whole day and not showing a drop on the battery meter, was thinking this update was really cool, but at the same time thinking this can't be right! Until later that night I restarted it just to check, and then the 10% warning popped up!
I did a reset, will find out today whether it worked or not.
