5th Gen iPod crashes after playing 3 songs

My iPod is workingg perfectly except for an annoying thing. It plays two full songs, and when it gets to the third it crashes and reboots. I have restored the iPod and still does the same thing. Anybody have ideas? i have also tried the reboot on the iPod as well (holding Menu & Play buttons to restart it, or whatever buttons they are).

You may want to Restore the iPod back to factory settings. Sounds like you could have a bad file on the iPod, does this always happen on the same song?

No, it happens on the third song everytime I play it. I have done all the necessary restore stuff on it. Just didnt know if anyone has had that problem and either fixed it themselves or had to send it back.

I'm having this same problem. I downloaded the new Kings of Leon album and it freezes and resets after playing 3 or 4 songs. I've tried reseting and restoring the settings.

I have also got his problem, purchased the new kings of leon album and only whilst playing this album after 2 songs it crashes! Lame! I have contacted Apple about this, I will post the solution they sent me once ive got it! Hopefully its just a dud file they've put up for sale, and they will send us out a bug free version for free!

I'm having the same trouble as well. Just bought the new Kings of Leon... plays perfectly in iTunes, but plays no more than three songs (shuffled or unshuffled) on the ipod before it quits playing and the apple logo appears. It drives me nuts. All my other music works fine.
Did you guys purchase the deluxe version or regular? I purchased the deluxe one, but I don't add my videos to the ipod to save space and so I don't hear "Sex on Fire" and "Crawl" twice. I doubt that has anything to do with the glitch though.

Hey beach_abr,
I bought the deluxe version and I'm only able to play three songs before it crashes. The songs don't seem to matter, just the fact that three are played in succession. I don't have this problem with other songs/albums and it doesn't seemed to happen when played in shuffle as part of a playlist. As I've played these songs with other songs in my "recently added," playlist.

I am having the same problem with Kings of Leon "Only by the Night" deluxe edition. I have restored my ipod and it still crashes after playing only 2-3 songs off the album. Such a bummer. I have been waiting for this album for months.

Unbelievable, I have the same problem after purchasing the new Kings Of Leon album. Ipod crashes after about 3 songs or so. Tried restoring factory settings, but the problem still persists. Anyone know if Apple are on to this yet...? Sounds like it's becoming a fairly common problem.

This is happening to me after I purchased the new Jenny Lewis album today. I have bought in the past, like two days ago and never had the problem. But it's happening now after a song or two, does a weird sound and reboots. Anybody find a solution?

I am having exactly the same problem! I downloaded new KOL album on monday, deluxe version, (from itunes) & it stops playing on my ipod after 2 or 3 songs and returns to apple screen. this happens both when playing album or skipping through tracks. i thought it was my ipod but after restoring it & then getting latest itunes & software its still happening, and only with this album! and now i see im not the only one with this specific problem... whats going on? i was looking forward to this album... help please

This is happening to me too! I purchased Jenny Lewis's "Acid Tongue," and it'll play two songs, then restart itself.

I am having exactly the same problem with the Kings of Leon Only by the Night (Deluxe version) album. My ipod resets after playing three songs. If I go back to the album after it has reset it seems to only play 1 or 2 songs before resetting again. APPLE PLEASE HELP. I thought Apple was supposed to be so much better than Microsoft becuase these sort of random crashes and blue screens of death aren't supposed to happen. What is going on????????????

I am having the same issue with the new Jenny Lewis album as well. It is only happening to me on this album. Seems like a file issue. Anyone hear anything from apple?
