5th gen keeps returning to Apple screen

All of a sudden after playing anywhere from 2 to 4 songs my Ipod stops and returns to the Apple screen briefly. Then it goes to the main menu screen.
What's going on here? Is there anyway to stop this and get back to normal?

It seems like it might work ok on Shuffle. However, when I try to play the 30+ songs I added yesterday (purchased from itunes) the problem occurs.
Any ideas?
It's not the battery obviously, so..

I'm having this same problem. I downloaded the new Kings of Leon album and it freezes and resets after playing 3 or 4 songs. I've tried reseting and restoring the settings.

I downloaded the new Kings of Leon album, and I'm having the exact same problem. The ipod resets after playing 3-4 songs from the album.

This all started after I purchased nearly 30 Iron maiden songs from iTunes.
It doesn't do it on any other songs on my iPod.
None of our resident experts on here can help?
I'll tell ya, if Apple can't help, they've lost a very loyal and free spending iTunes customer!

I am having exactly the same problem! I downloaded new KOL album on monday (from itunes) & it stops playing on my ipod after 2 or 3 songs and returns to apple screen. this happens both when playing album or skipping through tracks. i thought it was my ipod but after restoring it & then getting latest itunes & software its still happening, and only with this album! and now i see im not the only one with this specific problem... whats going on? i was looking forward to this album... help please

Same problem here. Ipod restarts to Apple screen after playing any 2 songs off of full album purchased 9/23. Very frustrating!!!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I thought my iPod was breaking down - normally resets between sex on fire and use somebody - or after playinng any three songs of the new Kings of leon album - sort it out Apple!

I've had the same problem after purchasing KOL. There's another thread on here with loads more people having the same problem but no answer from Apple. The only thing Ive heard that works is putting the album into a playlist, burning it to cd and importing it again. I think this would affect the sound quality though so I'm not too happy if thats the only fix. Hopefully one of the experts on here will speak up soon!

I looked into this for you and after speaking with my support team, I have posted a fresh copy of the album to your account to see if downloading a new file and transferring to your iPod will help.

The question you asked falls outside of my area of specialty. However, Apple does offer some resources that should help you."

hi, i too have just purchased the new Kings Of Leon album and am experiencing the same problem as you guys, its very annoying and is spoiling my listening experience!! i too have contacted itunes about this, dont know if i will get any joy though

add another disgruntled customer. I got a brand new download but it craps out on me on the third song, and it's the new Jenny Lewis album too. This is total B.S. Apple knows this is happening and hasn't sent out a message? I have an itunes card for my birthday and I don't want to buy any more songs because I'm afraid they'll just crap out like this album. A new download does nothing. I have the newest itunes. I do NOT want to copy the album to a cd and lost sound quality. I could have just bought the freakin album if I was gonna do that anyway.

This is also happening to me. Last week I purchased the new Jem and it shut down after the third song. Today I purchased 3 singes which it shuts down on two of them as well as the new Ben Folds.
