at this point I would even be satisfied if apple simply acknowledged the problem and told me it would be fixed in 2.2.

In the old thread, JCowley wrote
____________
I finally got an official response to this issue. Here it is verbatim:
<Edited by Moderator>
So, not good news at all.
_____________
So what was their response, and why was it edited out?
Does Apple not want us to know what their position and status is?

Andre and others - I don't think that JCowley's post was moderated, I think it was meant to bring a little levity to the group. Apple's official response is " "
Get it?
Note when posts are moderated the mods are kind enough to include "<Edited by Moderator>" as they did in cyberspastic's post immediately above yours. Makes one think that cyberspastic's moderated suggestion might actually be worth it...

Oh, OK, then it is funny. Didn't catch that because I'm so used to seeing these posts edited.

Really? Looks like it was actually edited to me. Considering that Apple has actually edited other posts and deleted things from time to time - I would tend to believe this was actually edited.

btw - as of yesterday - no push thru MobileMe. I was getting push email fine but no fetch thru the imap acct. When I got a push email - the imap would wake up and fetch at that time. But now no push and no fetch. I hope this means they're changing something and that there is at least some kind of progress.

Yes, come to think of it, my push isn't right either. I had forwarded my Gmail to Me, and the Me's haven't been coming in until I do a manual fetch and get both the Gmail and Me at the same time.
They must be having problems with MobileMe again.

I meant that it's bad Mobile Me mail also isnt being fetched while the iphone is suspended. you would think the two would work together even if other types of mail were causing problems.

I'm wondering if they don't really know about it, or if they consider it not to be a problem.
I looked through their support pages, including "Top Support Topics", and there's nothing. They obviously don't consider it a top support issue. Nothing in their "iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant" section either. They never did answer my support query.
Should I just give up? You'd think by now they would have said something if it was a known issue that they were working on. If it's not even mentioned on their support site, then it's obviously not worth their attention.
I feel like an un-valued customer not worth the courtesy of an acknowledgement. It's as if this issue is a figment of our imaginations, as if it doesn't exist at all. What kind of company treats its customers this way?
