Can't purchase anything with iTunes 8.0.2 update
Posted: Nov 21, 2008 3:27 AM

After updating to 8.0.2, I can't purchase anything on iTunes account. Every time I try to purchase music, a TV show or an application I get the error message that "...due to a problem with the iTunes store I have no available store credit for purchasing..." "I don't have any store credit, I've been trying to purchase with my credit card like I always have been." Has anyone else had this problem?

Yes, I thought about that too. I'm stationed in the Navy in Japan. My U.S. account is set up with a U.S. address and credit card and I've never had a problem in the last 6 years. I hope iTunes won't consider me as NOT in the U.S. even with a U.S. account.

I, too, am Navy stationed in Japan and am having a problem purchasing. I get the error of "Store Credit Unavailable" and the statement that my store credit balance is temporarily unavailable. I've re-entered my credit card info and still have the issue.

Is this something Apple will be fixing? I hope so...

Quick update. I just checked my wife's computer (who's address and country listed is exactly the same) and she's not having this problem...

Ideas?

Store purchases are still not working for me. I get the "...no store credit message..", but I don't have store credit, I'm trying to use my credit card.

The same thing started happening for me this morning. I purchased fine last night then this morning it was happening and I was using 8.0.1 so I updated to 8.0.2 and it is still doing it. Have you or anyone had any resolution?

No luck so far. If you've been experiencing this prior to your update to 8.0.2 then maybe the problem is on Apple's end with the store and the problem is not exclusively limited to the 8.0.2 update.
