Will upgrade to 2.2 lock my legally unlocked iPhone?

I have just recently purchased an iPhone from Optus Australia and I had paid AUD80 for the legal unlock fee.
The version which I am currently using is 2.0.2. My question is, if I upgrade my iPhone software version to 2.2, will it lock my iPhone?

Hi,
On the same topic, I've bought an Iphone 3G in Hong Kong and where they come unlocked already, but my Itunes account is setup through Ireland.
Will the update Lock my phone to O2 Ireland or will it remain unlocked?
Thanks

Hi saljy.. thanks for your assurance. Will try to update it in a few days time... and will let u know then. Have you updated yours to 2.2?
You are right about the auto correction, and that was my main reason why I want to upgrade my software version cause typing with that auto correction is annoying.

Genuine unlocked iPhone 3G from Apple Hong Kong here, no issues after updating 2.1 -> 2.2. Works with both local (PCCW) and US SIM cards (AT&T).

@ayman - thats very weird! take it to the apple store so they unlock it for you if its legaly unlocked! they have to do that!

@Hartbreaker81 - i bought my iphone when and it was on 2.0! (legaly unlocked vodafone italy)
updated to 2.0.2 no problems than 2.1 no problems now in 2.2 no problems!
you phone should not be locked because if apple sold it unlocked to you they will keep it that way! if it happens to lock take it to apple store they will unlock it for you! but im more than 99% sure that will not happen!

More than a few have posted that it DID lock the phone, and further that the IMEI changed, which should never happen.

I have a HK unlocked iphone. I updated no problem to 2.1 but when I tried 2.2 it lost the service provider (phone Co.) with "no service" message. I updated before the latest iTunes update (8.02) was downloaded which may have been my mistake.
I then downloaded iTunes update but still no service. Next big mistake was to use that Restore button on iTunes which then turned my Unlocked phone into a locked "ibrick".
The guy that sold me the phone (not in HK) says he has fixed it now and I'll get it back tomorrow.
I've read on this site of many people who have updated with no problems and many who have had problems. That itunes update was probably the culprit but the restore button was the killer.
