setting up windows 7 beta in boot camp

I just got the Windows 7 beta and I'm wondering how I go about installing it in boot camp. Could someone tell me step by step and (if possible) provide pictures or screenshots? I'm really new and I've never used boot camp before.
24" iMac 2.8 GHz 320 GB HD 4GB RAM 6 MB L2 cache

Basically you use Boot Camp to partition the drive and thats about it because the drivers likely won't work. I'll try to give you a step by step tomorrow.

I got the audio working after I downloaded the Realtek High definition audio driver for Vista version r212. Works like a charm.

Hey,
I had already done this a few weeks ago. I think it was the first week the pre-beta was leaked.
You install it exactly the same way you would Vista. Burn the iso to a disc using disk utility, then start the boot camp utility(With the disk in your drive) and continue from there. Make sure you select the ultimate or whatever the highest level there is on the list(This is during the windows installer).
Oh and harris is wrong. It's likely to work because Microsoft made sure that there is backwards compatibility with vista. However, like Chuck, I vaguely remember having to download the Realtek vista drivers.
It ran pretty great for me until any web browser I used would crash and so would Visual Studio.

Well, I ran bootcamp and partitioned a 32gb drive ntfs. I ran the Windows 7 disc and installed without issues. I then inserted the OS X install dvd 1 and installed the bootcamp drivers with the only hiccup being no sound and no isight. I downloaded the bootcamp update 2.1 (I believe) and got the iSight working but still no sound. Then all I did was download and install the newest realtek HD sound driver r212 and everything so far is working great...

I did the same, but I partitioned 100gb.
But after i inserted the OS X install dvd 1 - I got error 2229 at the begining. just an error without any installations...
did you install a Windows 7 Beta Build 7000?
and my OS X install dvd 1 version is 1.1. AHT version is 3A140. do you have the same?

OK, here's the fix from what I can see... Instead of editing the MSI and hacking it like that, I simply changed the registry setting to make it look like I was running Vista (Windows 6.0) instead of Windows 7 (6.1)
Open Regedit and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion
and then change the CurrentVersion key from 6.1 to 6.0
Run the bootcamp setup and you should be good. Don't forget to change the current version key back to 6.1.
Afterwards, download the bootcamp update from Apple for Vista and install (you don't need to change the version or anything for that to work).

First install Vista, get your system setup and working and your Apple and other drivers installed, and then install/upgrade over Vista to Windows 7.

Is there any way to do this without the OS X DVD? My dog got a hold of my copy a few months ago. Is there an way to just download the BootCamp drivers to a different DVD?

This way is realy hard. But the problem is not in drivers. I got all working drivers in windows 7. The problem that I haven't fully installed and functional bootcamp control panel...
