iTunes error 5002!Account Being charged but NO DOWNLOAD OR PURCHASE HISTORY

Okay so when I try to purchase something on iTunes, I keep on getting an error... however, after going out of that error I'M STILL BEING CHARGED what is going on! And to top it all off, it's not even showing in my purchase history... I'm already down 75 dollars on this (tried to purchase 5 times) because after getting the error i didnt get charged, but after clicking my home button, iTunes updated my balance and everything is gone! APPLE GIVE ME MY REFUND!

I have the same problem as well. I rented a movie a couple of days ago, it was downloading, but was taking longer than usual, so i canceled the download, just so i can continue it for the next day. The next day, I get the error when checking for downloads that Itunes is not available. hasn't worked since. I also tried purchasing a tv show today and got the 5002 error. It charged me twice as I pressed it twice since my balance didn't refresh 'til i bought it a second time..

Everyone is having this problem as of lately. Unsure of what's going on because Apple is too cheap to get 24/7 live support. I tried to buy an episode of "The Unit" and it charged me $42.14 five times.
So right now I am out of $210.70, luckily I can cover that... but I won't. Even if it means Apple pays out of pocket. All for just one episode that cost $2.99

I'm getting the 5002 error plus the next time I click 'Buy Episode' I get a message that says my credit balance is out of date. I redeemed $60 in prepaid cards and do not have access to that credit.

I would advise that you don't touch itunes until the staff clocks in tomorrow (1/8/09). It's one of two things; hack (highly unlikely), or system malfunction within Itunes.
Bottom line, they are accountable for every transaction made through Itunes. Insurance!!! Your money will be there before you can say the alphabet in greek, using binary code.

I'm having the exact same problem. It only seems to be hitting the TV section, I bought a song no problem about 30 seconds before it refused to let me buy the episode. I really hope I haven't been charged since I tried to buy the ep about 10 times.

To be fair, browsing online for other times error 5002 has come up, people have managed to find workarounds. I don't have much faith in apple to sort this out any time soon, so I'm open to suggestions as to what I might be able to do to sort it out.

I also have just had the same thing happen whilst trying to buy an ep. of Jimmy Neutron for my son. Hopefully this shall be rectified post haste..

The same thing just happened to me I went to buy a tv episode and got the 5002 error and tried a few more times and then i realized i had been charged for each time i clicked to buy it. Are we going to get refunded or how do we contact Apple about it?

What method have you been using that it's showing a charge? I received the error, but I checked my purchase history under my account and my failed purchases aren't present.

I have the same problem, the value of the show or movie I try and buy gets removed from my balance. But then around 30 minutes later iTunes restores the value back onto my account.
Hoping it will be fixed soon as it worked fine for me and changed when I came to buy something else like 40mins later. The most weird thing is that I can still buy music.

I am getting the same error. Only I am trying to redeem a digital copy of Pineapple express. I am curious if most of these issues are being caused by extra traffic with music going DRM Free. I know a ton of people are updating their music files. I could just be stupid though.

Same problem here. i used the German store  i have upgrade my Music to iTunes Plus for 60€ and i cant download the music.
