Safari 4.0 (5530.17) cannot uninstall :(

hi, today (09.06.2009) i downloaded from apple.com new version of safari, but i hate it, BUT i can't install safari 3.0 or simply uninstall 4.0
can you help me, please?
i try download and install 4.0 and after that use uninstall in package but i can't...

Please let us know what you dislike about Safari 4 so we may help you resolve some of the oddities you are seeing.
To revert to Safari 3 requires either a Time Machine backup or a cloned bootable backup on an external drive, or a reinstall of the OS.

i think it's slower than 3.0, i miss blue status bar (in url) and i dislike when i writing a url if i see history, bookmarks and top hits. this a really long list... and "half screen of monitor is full of this list"
i'd like find some easy way how to get back 3.0, not reinstall whole system...

There is no easy way. Hawaiian_Starman has mentioned your options already I'm afraid.

If you have TimeMachine or a separate backup, sure it's easy. If not, no it's not easy.

simply thing like uninstall and it's really problem. a love apple but this...
i don't have back up or time machine...
maybe Gates work for apple

I can not get to my online banking and to my http email since I installed Safari 4 yesterday. I do not have Time machine, so I need to find a way how to get rid of Safari 4 ASAP. Any other ideas? Or is there really Steve Ballmer's clone working at Apple?

You could download the latest update for Safari 3 (3.2.3) from Apple, then use Pacifist (www.charlessoft.com) to extract the Safari App from the downloaded package or directly from your Mac OS install DVD. You can run both versions simultaneously this way but they will use the same preferences file. You can change this but it requires tweaking a few settings in the .plist files that Safari 3 uses. I have done this successfully.

In Pacifist open the installer package that came with the safari download. Select the Resources tab and expand the Safari 3.2.3 package select the file called "Payload" and click the "Extract To" button in the toolbar. Then choose a place to save the file. Double-click the saved file and it should be extracted like a .zip file into a folder called payload. In that folder there is another folder called Applications, inside you will find the Safari 3.2.3 application. Copy this application to someplace nice and you should be able to run it as is.
Note: it will share preferences files with Safari 4. If you are replacing Safari 4 you need do nothing else. If you plan to run them side by side then you should modify their .plist files so that preferences are stored separately.
To accomplish this you must have developer tools installed. If you do, you may ctl-click (right-click) on the Safari 3 application and select "Show Package Contents".
In the window that opens you should see a folder called Contents and within that folder is a file called info.plist. Double-click this file to open it in property list editor.
Look for the property called CFBundleIdentifier and modify it so that the last part is not Safari.
i.e. com.apple.Safari -> com.apple.Safari323
Next, find the property called CFBundleName and change it similarly (This is the name that the application will go by in the application menu).
i.e. Safari -> Safari 3.2.3
Finally, close the .plist file and select save as it exits. You should then be able to launch Safari 3 as its own stand alone application. Thank you apple for your packaged application design!

ok, i have it! i appreciation your help and your time, that you spend with my problem. i only copied application. modify .plist will do after work, because i don't have nerve to do it now.
