iPhone 3.0 Passcode Lock Immediately

I have my iPhone connected to an Exchange server. On the 2.x software I was required to set a passcode that would lock the phone periodically, this was not a problem since I set it to require the password once every hour.
I upgraded to 3.0, but now that option is gone. I only the "Immediately" option for the passcode lock. So every time I lock my phone, and try to turn it on again, I must punch in my Pin.
Any ideas? Anyone else connected to an Exchange server with or w/o this issue?
Is this something that happened just from 3.0, or is it a combination of 3.0 and an Exchange server setting?

I'm having the same issue with the 3.0 software and exchange. It's really annoying!! Just like you, I used to have it set to lock every hour and now my only choice is immediately.

I have the exact same issue. I have heard that this is a potential fix for it (but haven't tried it yet):
1. Delete the Exchange email account setup in Mail Settings
2. Passcode options come back
3. Reset to a higher value
4. Add back the Exchange Mail account

Awesome, thanks John.
That was next on my ToDo, but didn't want to do it if I didn't have to.

Hmmm that's odd... I removed the Exchange account from the iPhone, but it won't let me re-add it even with the same settings....

i had the same issue once before (many months ago). i believe i simply removed the account, rebooted the phone, and then it allowed me to add it.

Sigh...
My company is JUST upgraded from Exchange 2003 to 2007 2 days ago, I'm worried they screwed up one of the discovery settings, so I can't attach to them by setting it up again...
I might have to resort to restoring from the backup. I wish the iPhone would just let you put in the server settings manually, instead of trying to "verify" or detect things.

Just stuck at "Verifying Exchange Account Information" and won't get to the screen where I can type in the server address.

Aha! I fixed it.. and I found another solution for the problem.
I restored to my backup, and instead of removing the Exchange profile, I simply disabled all three (Mail,Contact,Calendar) syncing. I deactivated the passcode, and then went back and re-enabled them.
Works fine.
In summary, you don't need to DELETE the entire exchange profile. Simply disable it completely, then re-enable it.

As soon as the device got a policy refresh from Exchange it put the other options back. I reduced the refresh interval in Exchange from 24 hours to 1 hour and that did the trick.

Just disabled the push and got the passcode options back. Enabled the push back and worked as it used to!!
