Nike Workout continous mix not available on iPod Touc
Posted: Sep 14, 2009 8:55 AM

At some point over the last few months, the continuous mix versions of the Nike workouts (e.g. Anywhere/Anytime Indoor Tune-Up) disappeared from my iPod Touch. The individual songs are there, but not the continuous mix with coaching. The weird thing is that I can see the songs when exploring the iPod Touch from iTunes. I can also see the song being added when I synch (after unchecking and rechecking the song in iTunes).

Here are some trouble shooting steps I have tried:
-added the song to a playlist that is always synced
-renamed the track name
-renamed the file and re-imported into iTunes
-deleted all content and setting on iPod Touch and restored from iTunes
-synced other long (25+ minute) songs

Any thoughts on what might be happening?

Thanks

-Adam

Hi Adam, It seems that many iPhone and iPod touch user with the OS-vers. >3.0 have this problem. The continous mix is definately on the mobile device. It is not a sync problem. With the new search function you could actually see it, but it can't play. I'm searching all kind of discussion groups to find a solution but find only questions and no answers. Hopefully APPLE is checking this content from time to time. It's really bad that we pay for this Nike workouts in the iTunes store (I have bought 6 different workouts) purchasing allways the latest hardware from apple and things which worked fine in the past are not running with the most actual software.
Apple, Please reply with an statement when you are fixing that bug.

Thanks, Tom

I ran into this same problem today. I thought I'd transferred over my Master the Treadmill workout (the Ok Go one) and headed off to the gym. Of course, I get there and can't find it. :( I had actually debated buying a new workout this morning to try (the hills one). Good thing I didn't if it's not going to work on the ipod touch.

It would be really good if someone would tell me what I can do to fix it. I've played around with renaming/removing/readding the song.

Ah ha, I found away around this, finally. If you right click on the continuous mix song in iTunes and go into Get Info. Next, go to the Options tab and change the Media kind from music to Podcast. It will remove the song from your library and put it over in the podcasts category. However, it will also be available on the touch within the podcasts section without having to go into the nike+ stuff.

Also, if you then go in to the podcasts section, and do the get info again and change the song type back to music, it'll appear in the normal part of the library as its suppose to. It seems to reset whatever flag their using to hide the file from the library.

Thanks for the tip! I tried creating a podcast and it didn't work, so I switched my Nike continuous mixes to the audiobook option and it worked! It would be nice if Apple would take care of this issue so we wouldn't have to play around like this....
