(cont. from my 'macproblems' user account)
...and I'm pretty happy now! After a year of problems with my PowerBook G4, I contacted Apple directly and received the best service imaginable: a replacement MacBook Pro for this machine.
Apple provide a top class service: where there are genuine problems, there are genuine solutions from the friendly and helpful people on the other end of the line.
Although my PowerBook has been a nightmare, all is forgiven Apple!

What steps did you take? Who did you contact? I've been having the same problems and have gotten the run around. Any info you could help me out with would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
