iTunes music store country problem

Hi,
I lived in Spain for 5 years and as such my iTunes music store was all in Spanish with Spanish tunes etc etc.
I've just moved back to Ireland and when I access the music store it's still Spanish.
Is there any way of fixing it or making it recognise the fact I'm in a different country. I assume the music etc you can get differs between the two regions so I'm hoping to sort it out.
Any advice much appreciated as always.
cheers

Thus, those of us who live in other countries but have our main credit cards in the US can't use the local store. Which is incredibly unhelpful, because in Germany, for instance, credit cards are barely available, let alone Visa-linked debit cards.
So I'm not buying anything from the iTunes store.
Pretty dumb system.

I bought my mac in the US, and my iTunes account is for a US credit card, but I'm going to university in Edinburgh. A song I wanted to buy wasn't on the US iTunes store, only on the UK iTunes store, but I can't buy songs from the UK store. What's with that?

It's up to the copyright owners/labels to get licensing in a particular country and then Apple will be allowed to sell them in that country's store.

My situation is even weirder...
I was in the UK, and iTunes knows me as being in the UK.
I'm moving back to the US. I have a US credit card. I change the country via iTunes, but they tell me that my US credit card is NOT registered in the US. All the while, I'm on the 'phone to American Express, who see the enquiry come in from Apple, and authorise it. But iTunes tell me no.
Weirder still, the same credit card is fine for me to buy stuff online from the Apple store IN THE US!!!
So my credit card is American enough for AmEx, American enough for the Apple Store, but not American enough for iTunes. V confused.

As Chris noted it is the copy right holders/content providers that are controlling the cross border sales.
Buying hardware etc from the Apple store is open to anyone provided they don't violate the export guidelines.
iTS and The Apple store are 2 seperate stores.
Have you tried to set up a second account for your US purchases which you qualify for under the iTS purchase rules? From what I have read you need a second account to purchase from another iTS if you meet the guidelines. You cannot purchase from seperate countries under the same account even if you have the qualifing CC/Billing address.

All this sounds really bad. I can understand that DRM stuff (not that I appreciate it!), so that is OK. What I think is even worse, is that you only can use the language interface settings of the country your credit card is registered in - or can anybody else tell me otherwise? I almost went to live in Singapoore a few months ago - so this would mean I might have been "enjoying" a chinese iTunes store? (...)

There is no Chinese iTS but you could have still used the Spain-iTS from Sing.
