mine's still on hold. i'm predicting a wait time about the same length of time as yours, so if it happens earlier than that, i may be pleasantly surprised, although ill have my fingers crossed and prepared for the worst.

The online status for my repair has not been updated (still says part on order) but I was told this morning that the parts are in.

Allegedly mine's fixed and ready for pickup, which will happen in a couple hours.

15 days for me.

Jill,

My Macbook is at the Memphis depot for the RSD syndrome fix. My current online status is "on hold-part on order". You say you were told this morning that the parts are in. Who told you this? The reason I am asking is because I would like to verify this information for myself in regards to my own Macbook. I love my computer and I want it back really badly and any further information may help ease my pain a bit.

Thanks,
D

I'm curious-did all of you mail in your MacBooks, or take them to a Genius at a store?

I don't plan on giving them my MacBook until the parts come in first-why should it sit on their shelf when I can still be using it, occasional RSD and all?

It matters not whether you mail it or give it to a Genius. In both cases, laptops are shipped off to a repair facility/depot.

Harbeth,
thanks-thats odd, just for RSD I guess. Some of the other fixes happen right at the store, as far as I know.

I called customer service to get update on repair and talked to a guy named Riley after waiting 50 minutes. The online status dones't seem to get updated regularly, from what I have seen on this forum. If you call and are willing to wait on hold, they will tell you the most current status (but don't expect lots of info!). Good luck!!

actually, the macbook doesnt stay at the apple store very long if youre bringing it in for repair. when i brought mine in on saturday, my repair status update reported it being received by the repair depot on monday.

Hmm, that's odd. Mine has always been repaired in store. In fact, when I get the new logic board next week, they're doing it while I wait, which is nice.

After being told that mine was on its way back to me on several occassion its been nearly 3 weeks

However Apple have a service level that if they cant repair it within 21 days they will replace your macbook!! I contacted after sales and customer relations - had trendous problems and ended up getting my money back

Apparently the problem is with the heat sink, and Battery - tech support said that plug in your power adapter without the battery in - and it works!! obviously not something as a long term solution - just told to do it to get a backup

Just out of curiosity, how did you get to talk to someone in customer relations?
