How to revert back to iTunes 6.05

First, go into My Documents / My Music / iTunes and see if there is a directory called Previous iTunes Libraries. Open this and find the one with the most recent date and copy it to your desktop.
Now go ahead and uninstall iTunes. Restart if necessary.
Download iTunes 6.05 from here:
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/itunes605forwindows.html
While you wait for your download to finish, go back into your iTunes directory from above. Look for the file named "iTunes Library.itl" and copy this name. Then delete this file. The file that you copied to your desktop, rename it to "iTunes Library.itl" and move it to this iTunes directory.
Install 6.05 and your music should be exactly where you left it pre-iTunes 7.
Cheers!

Please spread this. I think it's important that Apple sees that we are not happy with this "upgrade".

*sniff* thank you so much! I was a bit tired of my computer being a glorified mp3 player...

I believe this is what imports your library and puts it back into it's previous state.

iTunes 7 = Dog Crap.
Very very dissapointing. Sad that the only fix so far is to uninstall it. Very sad indeed.

As a great lover of the music video side of iTunes I can't really convey how disappointed I am with apple on this latest update.
My player no longer has a videos section at all! I don't watch tv or movies right now so those areas mean nothing to me, obviously they could have left the video section in.
And what is with the window size? even fully maximised it's too big for my laptop screen! Scrolling that extra centimetre to read the end of every comment sentence is vastly annoying and unnecessary.
Also, previewing videos is now barely worth it as the play back is so inferior to the previous incarnation. Bigger screen does NOT mean a better view when the video can't keep up with the track.
A new update to fix these errors please apple.

This Worked for me! Although I lost some of the artwork which iTunes 7 downloaded... the garbled sound and the scratchy Mp3 problem is no longer there... 14 years of being an Apple fan and this iTunes version actually has me scared. Thinking that Apple might be turning into M$

You need to uninstall iTunes 7 first. Follow the instructions at the top. It's very simple.

Did this, but got an error message:
"The file "iTunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes."
Any suggestions?
