Hi, my sweet little white macbook 2ghz doesn't find my battery anymore. The battery icon has X on it. I have to start my macbook with my powercord.
When I press the battery button bottom of my macbook it shows that I have my battery fully charged.
Any help?
-thx-

I tested my battery in my friend's macbook, and it didn't work. I tried his battery in my macbook and it worked. So I'm getting my battery replaced tomorrow, or on wednesday.
I hope it will be better...

Having this problem and RSD is becoming more frequent. I guess it's time to send the machine in.

Same with me. Runs fine on powerchord, but does not see the battery. Got a replacement battery from Apple. Worked fine for a day, then after a shut-down and restart, I got a blank screen. Tech told me to reset the PRAM. That works, but the computer goes blank after a restart. Getting tired of this laptop real fast.

Add me to the list, too - my MacBook is no longer portable. I tried resetting it (holding down the power with the AC unplugged and battery out) - no luck - if anyone has a solution - please help!
Also, resetting pram did nothing.

im getting sick of this same problem. two weeks ago the battery stopped charing, so the Techs told me to remove the battery and hold down the power button for five secs. it worked... for a day...
the next morning (after doing a battery calibration) the computer turned on, but the battery icon came up with an X. the battery no longer charges, and i basically have a desktop now, cause i cannot use the battery at all.
this ***** because i was travelling for work all last week.
called Apple last night (4th time in two weeks, waited for 1 hour each time). we did some tests. nothing worked.
i had to argue with the Tech to get a new battery sent to me. she was saying i need to send it to an authorized tech person, which is impossible for me as im 500 miles from the nearest one and cant afford the down time. after all, i bought this thing to WORK on.
im getting sick of this. and now my screen has started to flicker.
will Apple take care of me? will they just send me a new machine if this one continues to get worse?

Its the first time i had such massive problems with an apple computer! Welcome INTEL and welcome everybody to YOUR cheap apple - its cheaper but its trash!

Took mine to the Apple store yesterday. Battery was bad and so was the charging system. Had to send this to repair store, they said it would be gone about 5-10 days. Sounds like a common problem.

Took mine 2 days ago to the local dealer - phoned him today and askes what he will do to fix my problem. Answer:
"i have orderd a part between battery and logical part (forgot the name)" if its work i could tell when the part arrives. 1 week to go, MINIMUM! If it wasent the part the "troublemaker" he will order the next parts and i can take my mb with me until the new parts arrive!
This *****! Does he have any idea what it could be!? Doesnt seems so!
Anybody here who had the same problem which was solved with a new part!?

I took mine in last week, the tech thought it was the logic board and was getting ready to send it for repair (2-3 days, he told me). But, when he put the store battery in, it took a charge. Last night, the computer started having problems recognizing that battery, too... It would intermittently show the lightning bolt that indicates charging, and then act as though it was not plugged it. (Power was always on & connected.) So... I'm not out of the woods yet. 2 people I know with new MacBooks and MacBook Pros are having similar problems.
