iSync Support for Verizon Krazr K1m

Disclaimer...My info: Macbook Pro, Bluetooth, iSync v2.3 OS 10.4.8
This was posted on Howard Forums by lowglow (thanks!). It works! Be sure to back up your current iSync before attempting this in case you screw up.
In the Finder, control-click on the iSync application and choose Show Package Contents.
Scroll down to the following:
Contents -> Plugins -> ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice -> Contents -> Plugins -> PhoneModelsSync.phoneplugin -> Contents -> Resources.
In that folder look for the, MetaClasses.plist
Download and replace it with this the copy..............

Reboot.
Pair your Krazr in Bluetooth Setup. After pairing, phone will be added to iSync. If it doesn't, then open iSync, and add the phone. The picture though will be of a black Razr.

Thanks a lot. I changed the codes (deleting the "m" in "k1m" and "verizon") in the MetaClasses.plist file and iSync is now working with my KRZR K1. Now I have to fix that little icon...

Hi Tony,
I have a Motorola Krzr K1 as well, iSync works fine now but I'm not able to sync the phone with iCal, it shows that it's not supported. How do I get over this?

To fix he Icon. You will need.
1.Download from the web picture of the cell you like.
2.Convert the picture you downloaded to .tiff format - use preview aplication for that.
3.Go to folder:
Contents -> Plugins -> ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice -> Contents -> Plugins -> PhoneModelsSync.phoneplugin -> Contents -> Resources
In this folder you will find alot of picture named somthing like MOTV3-black.tiff create new folder and move all your MOTxxxx.tiff files to it.
4.Now Copy your picture to folder Contents -> Plugins -> ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice -> Contents -> Plugins -> PhoneModelsSync.phoneplugin -> Contents -> Resources
and rename it like MOTV3-black.tiff
5.Start iSync and injoy...

Sorry, maybe I am asking a silly question, but when I open the the MetaClasses.plist by double clicking the name, Ominioutliner is started up when I change the name into motorolakrzrK1 without the mVerizon The plist is then changed into a .003 file.
How can I solve this problem (maybe a stupid question but it would help me a lot since I bought my wife a KRZR and promissed her it would sync with our Mac)

It works with the GSM K1 if you follow the instructions to remove the "Verizon" stuff, or you can download the modified/working version from here.

You can send music or picture files via Bluetooth File Exchange. Make sure your music files are in MP3 format, instead of iTunes' default AAC format.
Btw, I kinda figured out about the icon in iSync. I was going to try editing the MetaClasses.plist file and moving the icon file into the folder. Haven't gotten around to do it yet. Thanks anyway.

I changed the MetaClasses.plist item and now I am able to sync the phone with the apple address book, which is GREAT!. But my question is to syncing with iCal. Is there a go around to get it to sync with iCal? Does the link provided above allow it to sync with iCal? I could care less about what phone icon appears in iSync... I'd rather have it work w/ iCal too...
