What's the answer? I just got an ipod hoping that I could use it to move songs from my pc to my mac but I ran into the same problem as you. Is there any fix?

iPod is only meant to be used on one computer, for copyrighted song protection reasons, so you cant use it to move songs from computer to computer.

oh and when you reformat a drive to another computer, its going to delete every thing

Why did you buy an iPod to transfer songs? If you want to do that, just buy a cheap flash drive and do it that way.

Sure, sure... but you can transfer vast quantities of applications or videos or any type of mac compatible file you want!:-P

I use my iPod all the time to transfer large files from Final Cut Pro.

This looks like it works, but the PDF mentions a button that my iTunes program doesn't have: the Options button in the lower right hand corner. I have an eject, but the other 3 aren't there. Any ideas?

You are looking in the wrong place, it isn't a button with the eject, it is the last section of the Summary tab in the frame above that.

Hoping someone knows of a trick...my iBook crashed and the data was unretrievable (including iTunes) but ALL my songs, album art was also on my nano. The problem is that the nano won't transfer what is on it to the new computer/iTunes (on a MacBook). Is all hope lost or is there some method I cannot seem to find?

To reverse populate your Mac iTunes from your iPod you can use several popular programs. I use PodWorks that you can find at www.downloads.com. Shareware, pretty inexpensive and it works great. Still doesn't solve the formatting problem between Mac and PC but if your Mac crashes and you've only got your iPod with the music, you can use PodWorks to restore the songs on iTunes.
