I just noticed that the battery on my MBP has started to bulge out from one end. Has anyone else had this problem? The thin aluminum cover has started to lift off on one end and can't be pushed back on to the battery.
I know these thing get hot, but now I'm thinking this one was about ready to pop!

Eli,
Put your battery on ice for a while, and call Apple right away. Don't play around with this battery stuff, its not safe. Something is wrong for sure.

I am on the phone right now w/ an Apple Tech and they are sending out a replacement battery, post haste . . . recommending not to use this battery, of course.

A blulging battery should be taken seriously. If your battery starts to buldge, stop using it and call AppleCare immediately.

Exactly the same happened to me. Bought my MacBook Pro in the end of may 2006. SN beginning with W8622. Called Apple Tech support today and they will send me a replacement battery at once. Odd enough though that the guy I spoked too was not aware of this problem. Do anyone know how to avoid this problem in the future? What happens when the warranty expires?
