Personal review / comparison og 3G service roaming compared to ATT
Well I got my iPhone 3G the week before I left for an around the world trip (Japan, Sweden, Israel and back to NY).
As I am an original iPhone user, I was a little disappointed in the 3G service. However, from what I can tell from Roaming in Tokyo and Nagoya Japan (on the NTT DOCOMO network, which I guess is the ATT roaming partner) for the last week, the signal is STRONG ALL OVER and the phone simply works.
I have NOT upgraded to 2.02 and I do have my data turned on (so I do not know how data roaming would be).
I have spoken to 2 iPhone users here and they say the phone works fine (on the Softbank Network, which is the Japanese carrier for iPhone) with both voice AND data.
In 10 days I will be in Sweden and I will make a comparison when I arrive there.
