Keychain Encryption Method?

I've been searching around and I can't seem to find it. When locked a keychain is supposed to be secure, but I want to know what type of encryption keychain access utilizes. Is it AES? 3DES? Something else entirely? I want to know before I blindly put sensitive information into my keychain.

Mac OS X (10.5.6)

It uses 3DES 128 bit encryption if I remember correctly.
