Direct download available?

Is there a direct download available for 3.0? I don't have my iTunes library with me (on an external drive) and was hoping to download the update while at the office so I don't have to wait for it later this evening.

No, there's not. You'll have to wait until you can get to your iTunes.

When I click "restore" I get this message:

"The iphone software update server could not be contacted. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connections is active, or try again later."

What the heck is this about?? Does restore contact the internet?
