silly ebay pricing for iphone 2G 8 gig

just upgraded the wife to a new 3Gs and i see a bunch of silly pricing for her old phone listed above. prices in excess of $300 USD... sometimes only 1-3 bids, sometimes as many as 40 bids...

what 'hanky panky' is being played out on ebay with these things?

just trying to determine 'street price' for her phone... thxs.

Mac Pro-iphone 4 gig, mac mini, Mac OS X (10.4.10), 2.66 Ghz, 2.00 Gig RAM

You could list hers on eBay and profit. Remember it was $600 initially. And it's an excellent device. There are other reasons that original iPhones are popular, but those reasons can't be discussed here.

There is no hanky panky going on at all. There are many many users who will gladly pay a small fortune for an iPhone that they can do with as they please that is not tied to ATT. What they do with it is their business once they purchase it, but it runs the eBay listings up pretty much to full price.

The current listings for the iPhone 3G 16 GB average about 320.00 for final sales according to the eBay estimate search.

hey thanks. wow i had no idea the 'secondary market' traded so strongly for these items.... seemed 'too good to be true' to me...
