I need to set up iMessage on Mac without iPhone.
During the search, I found an article How to Set Up iMessage on Mac without iPhone, but I need to make sure all the steps are correct, before doing anything.
MacBook Air (2018 or later)
I just did it, stumped on #2 as that window didn't show, but was easy to open Preferences & add my Apple ID, I didn't bother 1st setting a new AppleID, just used my regular one, but should not be a problem with any AppleID you use, make, or have.
Instantly got this message from Apple...
Your Apple ID (bd@somewhereovertherainbow.net) was used to sign in to FaceTime and iMessage on an Mac Pro named “im91”.
