Even though my payment method is valid, Apple keeps telling me that my payment isn’t valid. I want to download free apps but I can’t because it needs a payment method, which Apple keeps declining.

How exactly do I solve this problem?

Is the payment method one that is listed among the acceptable methods in your account details? What exactly is your payment method?

Is it a Visa credit card or is it a Visa debit card? If it is a debit card is it issued by a bank in which you have an account or is it a card that you bought in a store.

Apple doesn't usually accept [prepaid debit cards from a store. Sometimes they get through the system a few times, but Apple eventually figures out what kind of card that it is and stops accepting it.
