Twitter app broken after update (iPhone 3G/iOS 3.1.3)

I updated the Twitter app on my iPhone 3G to version 3.0.2 earlier this week. The app does not work at all. I click the app, it goes to a white screen, and then closes again. I'm on iOs 3.1.3; no problems at all with the phone since upgrading to 3.1.3. Any thoughts?

I have a 3GS v3.1.3 and the app store offered 5 updates. Twitter for iPhone and another simple app quit working right after that.

no solutions offer. it *****.

After posting this, I found @twittermobile, where the following was posted:

"Pre iOS 3.2 1st gen iPhone users, we still care about you! A fix is on its way asap."
