Unlock Mac using iWatch on Sonoma

I am having the same problem with my Apple Watch Ultra not unlocking my Macbook Pro after upgrading to WatchOS 10.0.2. I have now upgraded to 10.1.1 and still doesn't work.

Need a solution from Apple on this ASAP please

After the macOS14/watchOS10 upgrades, I cannot unlock my M2 Pro Mini with my watch.

Even more strangely, the option to do so isn't even available in settings.

Unpairing and re-pairing the watch, although it does take some time, really isn't drastic. The watch ends up with exactly the same things on it.

That the watch "ends up with exactly the same things on it" is by no means a given. I have been told a similar advise with my Macbook Pro and ended up with NOT exactly the same things (despite Time Machine and iCloud backup), setting me back several days before I could continue working without problems. So please accept that I'm not sharing your optimism.

In principle any device reset is a drastic measure and should only be the very last option. This is an issue that apparently hits a lot of users and thereby indicates a software issue that needs to be addressed by Apple. And equally apparent is that this issue exists since the option was introduced. I have found postings dating backwards as far as 2021. Plenty of time has passed for Apple to address the issue.

Tried to reset, nothing changed. Doesn't work.

I HAVE THE SOLUTION, reset and erase all settings(unpair/format) of your watch, pair the watch again, Mac will have a notification saying you have a new watch and the setting appears at setting>Touch ID and passwords at the bottom.

With recent experience, I can tell you it works just fine. iPhone 15 Pro, Watch 7. You don't need to reset the phone. Even the eSim gets added back to the watch. If you're not seeing that, I suspect there is something more going on. Perhaps it's time to have Apple take a look at things.

I went to settings on my watch and it said something about having g to sign in because some services would not work until I signed in again. After that, it works.

After the reboots and a couple of hours later, everything is fine now.

Same here. Macbook Pro M1 running latest Sonoma 14.4.1. Apple Watch Ultra running WatchOS 10.4.

On a whim, I decided to do another force restart (not just a regular restart) of my phone and watch at the same time, and while they were rebooting, reboot the Mini.

This time, everything connected as it had pre-upgrades.

Tried all the forced restarts described above; verified all the settings Apple identifies; still cannot use Apple Watch to sign in to Sonoma. When restarting the only options are TouchID and Password.

P.S. This isn't the only bug that's cropped up with Sonoma.
