Siri not working properly after iOS 17 update
had no problems with Siri responding to any of my commends before iOS 17. After iOS 17 I have to repeat all my commands 2 or 3 or 4 times.

Siri will not read my text message, won’t respond in car play, and voice to text won’t work, even when just using the phone. Seems to be tied to the latest 17.1.2 update? I’ve tried all the above suggestions without any luck.

I have used the following steps to troubleshoot and I'm still having problems. It made no difference and Siri has taken a major step backwards in terms of it's ability to understand my requests. Any other ideas? I had a couple of conversations with apple advisors and I'm still waiting on an Apple support callback from a senior advisor.
I have the same problem with iPhone 13 Pro. Updated to IOS 17 and now Siri is not working. Tried all the steps above and restarted the phone several times to no solution!
incidentally my iPad Pro (Gen 2) updated to iOS 17 and having no issue with Siri??!!
Need Apple to fix and send an update to iOS 17
My Siri isn’t hearing anything now. I’ve tried turning on hey Siri command but it doesn’t hear my voice. Resetting the phone doesn’t help. I just updated two nights ago. I now notice there’s another update already 17.1.2. Maybe that’s the fix
Why can't Apple just acknowledge they've got a problem and they're working on it rather than recommending fixes that don't work. It took me several discussions with tech-support people before I found one really nice person who knew about the issues. Everybody else says they've never heard about this problem. How is this possible?
Siri is completely disabled and 80% of my contacts have disappeared after that last IOS17 update. Have spent hours on phone with Apple support and still no fixes!
My microphone works on the Voice Memos and Videos/audios, but Apple Genius told me my microphones failed twice. I was advised to buy a new phone. I'm not sure I agree that Siri died and 80% of my contacts disappeared the day after the IOS 17 update but they events are unrelated and now my only solution is to buy a new phone. The genius acted like he never heard of any complaint!
Working with Apple support, I have tried to retrain Siri 20 times or more asking how's the weather - to no avail.
Weirdly, Siri did make one phone connection for me on Monday, but it's never worked again.
I work with a blind person. He is having similar problem. WHEN HE USES SIRI TO READ EMAIL IT DOES NOT RESPOND PROPERLY, DOES NOT READ MESSAGES LIKE IT USED TO DO BEFORE. He had couple of conversations with apple but it seems like they fail to understand his problem. He is very frustrated now.
The issue we are having (helping a blind person that uses voice over) is that after update of iOS 17 Siri is stalling during any read back function. It just stops in the middle. During sending an iMessage, it stops mid way thru reading back the message and never sends the message.
Hello atv remote,
For difficulties with Siri the steps below may help:
1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap Siri & Search.
3. Turn off Listen for "Siri" or "Hey Siri," then turn it back on.
4. When the Just say "Siri" or "Hey Siri" setup screen appears, tap Set Up.
5. Say each command that you see on your screen.
6. Tap Done.
You can also find those steps in this resource: If Siri isn't working on your iPhone - Apple Support
Additionally, you can use the steps below to make sure this isn't related to a complication with one of your microphones: If the microphones on your iPhone aren't working - Apple Support
Clear the microphones
1. Remove any screen protectors, films, or cases from your iPhone.
2. Clear any debris from the openings of your iPhone.
1. Open the Voice Memos app.
2. Tap the Record button , speak at the bottom of your phone, then stop the recording.
3. When you play back the memo, you should hear your voice clearly.
1. Open the Camera app.
2. Record a video while speaking at the top of your iPhone.
3. Tap the camera chooser to switch to the other camera. Then record another video while speaking at the top of your iPhone.
4. When you play back the videos, you should hear your voice clearly.
Should that behavior with Siri still persist, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support: Apple Support They'll be in the best position to look into this further.
Take care.
I guess this is solved by now but for me this only resolved after turning off sound recognition in accessibility settings. Didn’t see anyone else suggesting this.
Hope it helps
Tech-support told me it's a serious problem that Apple is working on. For someone who uses voice control it's a huge issue and things seem to be getting worse for people with disabilities every time they do updates. Get the feeling of disabled people are lower priority for apple
I even tried to get help from Apple Genius at store in Greenville, SC, but he just said my microphone was shot so I needed a new phone. Mind you that hundreds of people have had this same situation and my microphone works on video recordings.
Grrrrr....
I've tried this but it’s been unsuccessful
siri after update to ios 17.5.1 is deactivded and when i want to active that tell me "siri didn't quite get that try again " please help me to fix it
