FaceTime saying to sign in when it is already signed in

hi, so when I go to call specific contacts on FaceTime it just tells me that I need to login first, but I’m already logged in through my iCloud account and my phone number only certain contacts

I am also having this issue. I was traveling abroad but haven’t been able to shake this since coming back. I attempted to sign out and back in of my iCloud account, and restart my account, all to no avail.

iMessage appears to work, as does everything else, just FaceTime is having the issue. I get an error message that says “Activate FaceTime to make and receive FaceTime calls” and when I click “sign in” it just redirects me to the FaceTime app, but there’s no where to sign in.

This was the fix for me. Contact I was trying to reach did not realize FaceTime had deleted due to having “Offload Unused Apps” turned on. For some reason this kept telling me to sign-on on my end when attempting a call. Tried the other methods mentioned with no success. Once we realized the app had deleted on their end and they redownloaded, it immediately worked

When I try to FaceTime my daughter on her iPhone and my grandchildren on their iPad, a message comes up saying I need to sign in to FaceTime. I hit “continue” but it redirects me back to the screen with the camera on me. They are international. I am already signed in to FaceTime, have internet access & can FaceTime ppl here in the states.
