Erase your Mac

The Erase Assist is only available on Apple Silicon computers or on specifically configured Apple Intel computers

On a Mac with Apple silicon or an Intel-based Mac with the Apple T2 Security Chip, use Erase Assistant to reset your Mac to factory settings before you trade it in or sell it.

If this computer does not Qualify to run Erase Assist

You can always use the method outlined in below link

What to do before you sell, give away, trade in, or recycle your Mac
