No input for GarageBand iOS on iPad

Hello! I have been having trouble with getting input on GarageBand. I am on an iPad. I'm able to hear myself on the playback with the internal mic, but as soon as I connect it to the condenser mic I have been using, all the input levels are zero and no sound gets picked up whatsoever. However, in a different session just prior to this one, I had the same iPad connected to a dynamic mic and it worked just fine. I have monitoring turned on, and I have opened and closed GarageBand multiple times, so it doesn't seem to be a random glitch. I'm not very sure what to do.
