Stolen Device Protection Overview:

- Stolen Device Protection is a security feature available on iOS 17.3 or later.

- It prevents unauthorized individuals (who know your passcode) from performing critical device and Apple ID operations (such as changing your device passcode or Apple ID password).

- When enabled, sensitive operations require a Security Delay:

- First, a successful Face ID or Touch ID authentication.

- Then, an hour wait.

- Finally, an additional successful biometric authentication.

- This delay helps prevent unauthorized changes to settings that could lock you out of your iPhone or Apple ID account.

Enabling or Disabling Stolen Device Protection:

- To enable or disable this feature, follow these steps:

- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

- Depending on your iPhone model:

- For iPhones with Face ID:

- Tap Face ID & Passcode, then enter your passcode.

- For iPhones with a Home button:

- Tap Touch ID & Passcode, then enter your passcode.

- Scroll down and tap Stolen Device Protection.

- If you don't see this option, ensure you've set up Face ID or Touch ID first.

- Choose one of the following:

- Away from Familiar Locations: Use Stolen Device Protection only when you're away from home or work.

- Always: Use Stolen Device Protection everywhere.

- To turn off Stolen Device Protection:

- If you're away from familiar locations or have it set to Always, a Security Delay is required.

- Tap Start Security Delay, then follow the onscreen instructions.

Why You're Experiencing It at Home:

- If you're encountering the delay even at home, it's possible that your iPhone's location detection isn't recognizing your home as a familiar location.

- You can try the following:

- Ensure that Location Services are enabled for the Settings app.

- Check if your home address is correctly set in your Contacts.

- Restart your iPhone to refresh location data.

Remember, this feature is designed to enhance security, but it can sometimes be triggered unexpectedly.
