Is there and new virus that populates code when you type in you browser? I

I cannot get any work done in photoshop. It last for a few minutes and then it goes away and shows up again around the same time in the evening. It turns the pointer arrow tool into a duplicator tool.

The Title of this question " Is there and new virus that populates code when you type in you browser? I "

The body of the question is quoted above.

Which one of the two very different issues does the user wish assistance with ?

Once that is answered, we ( the collective we ) maybe able to move forwards

Will take a stab and the Titled Question

There are no known Windows-like Viruses in the wild that self replicate and affect macOS, because of the underling UNIX  Foundation and Permission Limitation.

The Operating System resides in a Sealed and Read Only Volume that cannot be opened by the User nor by Third Party Applications.

There is Malware and Adware that can affect the User Account where it was installed

Though, for the malware / adware to be installed would require the user ( you) to have Granted Permission to install and bypass the builtin Malware checker in macOS Monterey

Security. Built right in

Mac app security enhancements

The Built in Security  is all that is required to protect the computer.

Does the above appear to what the user has done ?

Start with this if M1, M2, or M3 Mac...

On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > Shut Down.

Wait for your Mac to shut down completely. A Mac is completely shut down when the screen is black and any lights (including in the Touch Bar) are off.

Press and hold the power button on your Mac until “Loading startup options” appears.

Select a volume.

Press and hold the Shift key, then click Continue in Safe Mode.

The computer restarts automatically. When the login window appears, you should see “Safe Boot” in the menu bar.

Does the problem occur in Safe Mode?

Restart normally.

Start with this if IntelMac...

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes or more.

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
