Deleted iPhone Podcasts keep coming back

Question

I am trying to free up space on my iPhone XR by deleting downloaded podcasts that I didn't know I was downloading.

I have gone into Podcasts and deleted downloads from the library there. I made sure "automatically download" is disabled in Settings.

What else do I need to do? These things just keep coming back.
