Deleting Series books from Apple Books app

I bought the first book in a series (The pig did it). I did not like it but I cannot delete it. Apple says I should open the series and then delete it but its does not work for the books that I did not buy and do not want. All it gives me is the price to buy them.

Is there a way to remove Series books without having to buy them?
