My airpods are not connecting!

My airpods have not been connecting to my phone even though my case is charged! i tried resting and updating my phone and laptop but they still don't connect to anything! i don't know what to do! are they broken>or need fixing>? I tried to press the button on the back and restart them but they still don't connect! They have been charged all night and won't connect and they were working yesterday but all of a sudden today stopped working. Please help me asap i need them for work meetings!
