Apple Watch not announcing run splits when listening to Spotify

I used to use Strava and Spotify from my phone and basically Strava would interrupt my music to announce pace etc at 1k intervals. I now want to use my Apple Watch Ultra and instead of Strava use Apple Workout. I have ticked the settings Voice Feedback. How we when listening to music I get no voice feedback. Is this possible to correct?
