I have a can't access iCloud data warning on my phone and I cannot type in my alphanumeric iPad password

Yesterday on my phone, I get this warning saying Update Apple ID Settings and so I click on it and it says I need to verify my Apple ID, I put in my Apple ID Password and my phone password and then it asks me for my iPad password and gives me a number pad, but I have an alphanumeric password for my iPad so I cannot type it in. Now it says Can't Access iCloud Data and I tried changing my iPad password but it still didn't work.
