AirTag stops showing up on Find My app

I just got an AirTag. It seemed to connect fine to my iPhone. I saw the location on my phone and saw the AirTag listed in the find my app but as soon as I clicked done and it closed it now does not show up when I open find my app again. What am I missing. I have repaired my tag twice and same thing
