Just upgraded from free to 2 TB account so as to store my Photos Library in iCloud as backup.
Nothing seems to be happening. .My Mac is synced to iCloud.
Do I need to do anything and how do I check what has been stored?
Library is 570GB.

Turn on iCloud Photos asa described in Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support
The upload may take a long time (days).
You can check the status by opening the Photos app on the Mac, clicking Library in the sidebar and then scrolling to the bottom of the Library.
My understanding is that iCloud Photos supports all photo types that are supported by Photos on your Mac. Also see the following from Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support
Your photos and videos are stored in iCloud in their original formats at full resolution. This includes HEIF, JPEG, RAW, PNG, GIF, TIFF, HEVC, and MP4 as well as special formats you capture with your iPhone or iPad, like slo-mo, time-lapse, 4K videos, and Live Photos. The photos and videos you capture with these devices are in HEIF and HEVC format. Depending on your internet speed, the time it takes for you to see your photos and videos on all of your devices and iCloud.com might vary.

I now see that a new file has opened in Photos on my Mac'Unable to upload'. It contains a lot of photographs taken over time with different cameras and a variety of formats, jpeg/raw.
Don't understand the problem. Any thoughts please?

Also note that my experience has been that the Album organization may take awhile even after all the photos have uploaded.
