Text Messages/iMessages list doesn't get resorted based on timestamp after message deletion
For quite some time now the list of text messages/iMessages doesn't get resorted based on timestamp when I delete a certain message in a thread.
For instance:
1) I have a message thread with person A with a timestamp of May 15, 2024 at the top of my messages list.
2) Right below it I have a message thread with person B with a timestamp of May 14, 2024.
3) I received another message from person B today (May 16, 2024). It bumps this message thread to the top of the messages list, as it should.
4) If I delete just this last message from person B (not the entire thread) I would expect the message thread with person A to get back to the top of the list (since now this is the most recent message on the list). However this doesn't happen. The message thread with person B remains above the message thread with person A.
I gave this simple example just to illustrate the issue. I'm using text messages A LOT and it's very important for me to be able to view my text messages in the order they were received.
I'm using iPhone 15 Pro and iOS 17.5, but this issue has been going on for months now if not more. Interestingly enough this used to work just fine for years, until one day it stopped working for some reason.
Is anyone else here experiencing this annoying behavior? Does anyone know how it can be fixed?
Thanks
