PDF file types are displayed with Chinese characters as “ PDF文档 “ with device settings in German/English

I’ve now had this for years. Whenever a file type for .pdf is displayed in iOS and iPadOS it gets displayed as “PDF文档”. It is the same as this: iOS adding Chinese characters to PDFs? PD… - Apple Community

I live in Europe. My device languages are German and English. I’m on the latest versions of operating systems. How can I change this behavior? Are there apps that rename file type descriptions?

In your preferred languages list, are there only two items, German and English? If any others, remove them.

Does the problem remain if you change the language of your device temporarily to which one it is not currently in, German or English, and back again?
