Images not appearing in Google search using Safari

A few months ago my iPad quit showing images in Google searches using Safari - all I get is a page of related searches. I’ve tried clearing the cache multiple times and can’t find a setting that seems to control this. The issue only affects my iPad, my iPhone still works as expected. I get this condition regardless of whether I am signed in to Google, and it is not linked to Google’s SafeSearch settings.

Any ideas? 9th gen iPad Pro, iPadOS 17.4.1 (21E236).
