Clear History and Website Data greyed out

My company uses and MDM to install required apps on devices. We do have Web Content Filtering enabled in the MDM to block certain websites. We need to be able to clear the history and website data on occasion, but are unable because it is greyed out. Is there a way around this besides disabling the content filtering?

Hello ~ Click on below and review…

*When there's no history or website data to clear, the button to clear it turns gray. The button might also be gray if you have web content restrictions set up under Content & Privacy Restrictions in Screen Time.

There is a Screen Time restriction that will prevent you from deleting the history and website data. The location of this is Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Content Restrictions > Web Content. This must be set to Unrestricted.

It is possible that the MDM will not let you access this setting or may override it to prevent the history from being deleted. This is common with any computer managed in a work environment to be able to review the sites that their employees have visited.
