software not installing due to os not meeting requirements - even though it does

i’m on a mac running 10.13.6 and trying to install software (quark xpress9).

when i try and run the installer, it runs a program to determine it the software can be installed. clicking continue brings up an error claiming that in order to run quark requires a minimum of mac os 10.5.8 or later (even though my current os falls into the later category).

the only options from here are close which exits the installer entirely.

Where do you find specs that it works with 10.13.6???

Mac System RequirementsMac OS 10.5.8 Leopard, 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, 10.7.x Lion or later

Mac Intel processor

2 GB RAM (1 GB minimum)

2 GB hard disk space

You can't trust 10.7.x or later because that's so old & so many steps removed.

FWIW, the last version of QuarkXPress 9 was 9.5.4 which supported Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9. 10 years ago.

Just to add, the first version of QuarkXPress to support High Sierra was 13.0.
