Everytime I try to install updates my password, which works for logging into my computer, suddenly is not authenticating for update installations. Why is that. I've even tried unsuccessfully to install updates through Terminal. I know that this is a known issue. Please provide me with the proper solution.

While logged into the computer
Go to System Preferences >> Users & Groups
Look for Your User Account Name
What exactly is appearing beneath your user Account Name ?
