iPhone (4) Voice Memos not Syncing to New iTunes 10.0

I'm currently on an iPhone 4 (4.0.1 firmware) and I've been experiencing issues getting my voice memos to sync to my iTunes library.

The last time this worked was August 27, 2010 which added 3 voice memos to my iTunes library successfully. Since then, I have not yet updated my firmware but have installed the new iTunes 10.0. I have 8 new voice memo recordings on my phone since the last successful sync, and I've tried syncing my phone four times today, Sept. 4, (restarting iTunes and my iPhone) with no luck. I tried recording a new voice memo to see if iTunes 10 would recognize any memos recorded after the installation but that failed as well.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Inspiron 6400, Windows 7, iTunes 10.0

bglackin's procedure worked like a charm - seems to have resolved the 'duplicate' issue as well, after 3 'tests', there are only the memo's I have recorded.

Thanks from me, too, bglackin! Your fix did it for me, too. Actually I didn't even have to do the final step. Autosync after File->Library->Organize Library did it. (See bglackin's 10/12 post for complete step-by-step.)

Same story, voice memos not syncing. I get a Voice Memo ".crash" file indicating that the voice memos have not been synced to my iTunes library. Can anyone please tell me what the voice memo file extension is so that I can search for this?

I had the same problem and started trying few suggestions but didn't work. I was gonna give up but just decided to try restarting itunes, and it solved the problem.

I had the same problem because I created my own Voice Memo folder. I changed the name of mine to VM and then the sync worked as itunes found it's voice memo playlist folder. Hope that helps someone.

I found the solution on another forum (source is at bottom)...but basically I noticed that if i created a fresh new voice memo and then synced...then it worked. So the problem then became that older voice memos weren't syncing..
so the solution is to:-
go to each old memo and TRIM it (see the little blue arrow, far right of each memo..click on that arrow and trim by 1 second)..then when you sync ..it sees the voice memo as a new one and syncs it fine

I'm on iPhone 4 iOS 4.2 and naming and renaming is still horrible for Voice Memos…

Trimming is the only thing that worked for me as well. Except that you don't have to actually trim anything off. Just hit the trim button without adjusting the endpoint slider control. New voice memos seem to be transferring OK now.

Deleting the voice memo playlist, then restarting iTunes and resyncing, fixed this problem of voice memos not syncing properly for me.

Hey all,
Kind of odd all the work arounds for this one. Anyway, I own 4 or 5 different ipod cables and chargers from prior models and I have noticed they all create different side effects on my iPod Touch (4th Gen). The most recent was not finding Voice Memos. So after a failed attempt on an old cable, I went and found the new cable and plugged it in and then the "New Voice Memo" screen popped up on iTunes. So perhaps this will help others with the same problems.

It worked!!!!!!!........ this is what I did. Click on your iphone device. Go to the music tab on top. UNCHECK "Entire Music Library" . Check "Selected Playlists etc...." Check include voice memos then sync.
